We are currently working on a project funded by Human Animal Bond Research Initiative and in collaboration with Dogs for the Disabled. The project is long-term follow up investigation of the effects of dog ownership in the families of children with autism. Our initial research is currently being prepared for publication and is very exciting, so keep checking back for up-dates on publications!
Our research team are actively seeking funding to pursue the scientific exploration of the benefits of dogs in the classroom. We are also developing a network of schools, practitioners and parents who are interested in learning about, or contributing to our research. Please get in touch with us if you would like to be involved, or simply kept updated with information (Sophie: shall@lincoln.ac.uk).
